Vitisvinifera Linn. (Grape) contains a variety of bioactive components including polyphenols. Flavonoids are the major phenolic compounds (65–76%) in grapes. Grape phenolics possess several health promoting properties due to their antioxidant potential. It is thought that antioxidants have memory-enhancing potential. Therefore, in this study, we evaluated the nootropic activity of the Vitis vinifera fruit juice in normal and memory-impaired mice using the Morris water maze model and object recognition test. In the Morris water maze model, there was a significant decrease in escape latency (EL) and a significant increase in time spent in the target quadrant (TSTQ) as compared with normal control and memory-impaired mice (P)
